Local Air Quality
Local air quality, particularly around airports, is also subject to European and national/regional regulations. The introduction by Belgocontrol of operational concepts reducing taxi time, among others the Collaborative Decision Making (CDM), the implementation of TOBT (Target Off-Block Time, that allows the restriction of the number of aircraft at the holding point) and the sequencing of departures contribute to limiting aircraft emissions on the ground. The introduction by phases of A-SMGCS, as for example « Follow the Green », will reinforce this tendency.
